Multi-talented and versatile, busy Toni Gonzaga is one of ABS-CBN’s most bankable stars in the current celebrity landscape. Her appeal and sparkle entices a broad spectrum of ardent fans spanning the cross section of Philippine society. Equally successful in comedy, singing, and hosting, she exudes intelligence, elegance and grace but in an instant can switch to her wacky antics while somehow keeping in step and never out of place. Of course it also helps that 5’5” Toni carries herself in an elegant manner, holding a tantalizing set of eyes, perfectly high cheekbones, and a delightfully diminutive mouth that fluently delivers lines in flawless English or Tagalog.

Her recent movie “You Are the One” with Fil-Am Sam Milby was a recent box office hit, establishing her as one of today’s most sought after talents. She continues to regularly host Studio 23’s news gag show “Wazzup Wazzup,” where she obviously loves displaying her cookie side, and also holds a recording contract with Star Records with the release of her first album: “Toni: You Complete Me”. While Toni seems to have burst into the celebrity scene, it was far from an overnight success for her. Unknown to many, Toni turned out as a lounge singer at 17, doing the rounds in hotels such as the Hyatt Regency, the Century Park Sheraton, and the Holiday Inn.

Soon all her hard work eventually paid off in a very unlikely break. Getting a lead part as a starstruck fan of Piolo Pascual in a softdrink commercial, she excitedly gushed out the now famous line, “I love you Piolo!” A few months after that she appeared in an episode of a GMA-7 sitcom “Daddy Di Do Du” where her portrayal of a balikbayan impressed the show’s production outfit. Soon she became a co-host of a long-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” kicking off her showbiz career.


In spite of her newfound celebrity status, Toni appears to remain cool and down to earth, counting her blessings and enjoying downtime with the family and her Golden Retriever named Wuwu (based on her show “Wazzup Wazzup”). Toni also served as a Baranggay Kagawad in Taytay’s Barranggay Isidro, taking from her Dad and a late uncle who used to be councilors in Taytay, so she has an innate affinity with the masses and carries an air of humility specially in dealing with any type of person.
